Parks and Trails
The Municipal role in parks and open space is largely related to acknowledging local needs, which are reflected in community park spaces, neighbourhood parks, and park and open space linkages. At the municipal level, Veterans' Memorial Park and Centennial Park are the premiere developed parks. Other Municipal parks at various levels of development include: Cedar Vale, Glen Lake, Langford Lake, Glen Cove, Willing, Danbrook and Cressida Parks. Playfield activities are also provided through joint use of school sites throughout the community. For more detailed information related to parks in the City of Langford refer to the Parks Master Plan, July 1996.

The City is committed to the creation of a community wide network of pedestrian routes connecting neighbourhoods with amenities such as parks, schools and shopping. Implementation of the City of Langford Trails Master Plan (1998) began in 1999 and 2000 with construction of the first stage trails and winning a number of awards.
