The Administration Department provides leadership to all employees, ensures a secure financial position for the City, provides staff support to the Council, and receives, analyzes and resolves citizen concerns, complaints, and inquiries.
The Building Department is responsible for implementing Council-adopted bylaws and policies through residential and commercial building plan reviews, building inspections and plumbing inspection services.
The Bylaw Enforcement Department is responsible for investigation into complaints relative to violations of City of Langford bylaws, and for the enforcement of those bylaws.
The Engineering Department is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of most of the physical infrastructure of Langford, ranging from constructed features such as roads and sewers to the natural settings of parks and trails.
The Finance Department performs the functions of financial advisor and financial administrator in support of City operations including budget control, financial reporting, and administration of information systems.
The City of Langford’s Parks and Recreation Department is mandated with overseeing the planning, development and maintenance of the City’s parks and trails systems. The development of the Parks Master Plan helps focus the City’s future park and recreational needs; while the department’s role in the development and maintenance of a variety of infrastructure projects is integral to the beautification and liveability of the community at large.
