Mayor Young Acknowledged With Award

Mayor Stew Young received an inaugural Golden Scissors Award Honourable Mention from the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses for the creation of a regional business licence to reduce red tape and streamline procedures. Mayor Young received the award along with Saanich Mayor Frank Leonard for the new system, which has since been adopted by 13 municipalities within the Capital Regional District.
