Communications & Dispatch
The CRD Communication Centre is a purpose built (2001) solution within a post-disaster facility in Langford Fire Rescue's Station #1. This cutting edge centre in the capital region will be further upgraded to facilitate the latest technologies once the details are approved in the new contract. The Communication Centre, under contract with the Capital Regional District, focuses on providing E911 Fire Dispatch Service for the progressive clients working for their collective betterment. During the past year (2011), the Communications Centre handled a total of 6559 reportable incidents for all Fire Departments serviced by our Centre.
Our Full Dispatch Service includes:
- Emergency and non-emergency incident call taking
- Page out of incident
- Rip and Run printout of event information
- Rip and Run Map printing of event information
- Full Radio Support - Emergency and non-emergency
- Full incident management: callout of support agencies and resources (automatic and as requested)
- Incident Benchmarking
- Emergency response time-stamping (via mobile CAD or via radio)
- Established, timely, Call review process - CAD data, audio files, statistical information, full call breakdown and remedial action process.
- Statistical Reporting
- Management of Dispatch / CAD maps and understanding of the provincial mapping systems that affect dispatch.
- User defined Locations of Interest, and Common Place Names
- Data transfer from CAD to other RMS systems (FDM or other) and hosting options through a Regional Access Model.
- Access to basic and customized reports
- IT and network support for operating systems (CAD and RMS)
- Recording of dispatch / paging talk groups
- Recording of Operational radio talk groups
- BCAS gateway interface
