Langford's newest water feature may also be its most harmonious. Half-hourly musical shows and a continous watery dance entertain residents and shoppers along Goldstream Avenue in Downtown Langford.
Housed in the middle of Goldstream Avenue's roundabout, the Musical Fountain is Downtown's centrepiece: a structure built to enrich the Langford's sense of community. The Fountain is only part of larger endeavour, however, envisioned my Mayor and Council since Langford was incorporated in 1992. For nearly two decades, the City of Langford has sought to revitalize and beautify the Downtown core. Both goals are nearing completion, and the Fountain's arching water display, surrounded by gorgeous flowerbeds, forms the capstone in the City of Langford's proactive strategy.
Encircled by coffee shops at the intersection of Goldstream Avenue and Bryn Maur Road, the Fountain orchestrates a musical water show every half hour from 9 AM to 9 PM. At night, the display is even more magnificant as coloured lights turn the water every hue in time with the music - from the Beatles to the Star Wars theme song. Relax, and enjoy the show.
